Literary arts in the heart of London
Queen’s Park Book Festival is a vibrant and exciting celebration of literary arts in the heart of London. An area with deep literary history, Queen's Park has been a home to authors, artists, poets and actors for generations. Every year hundreds of authors are welcomed by thousands of audience members for a weekend of events in the beautiful park.
Authors who have attended the festival include local bestselling novelist Zadie Smith, award winning authors Robert Harris, Andrew O'Hagan, Ben Macintyre, Elif Shafak, Tessa Hadley, John Lanchester, Guy Gunaratne, Lucy Hughes-Hallett, Jonathan Coe, Philip Hensher and Booker prize-winning novelists Howard Jacobson, Eleanor Catton and Bernardine Evaristo. The festival celebrates the literary arts in all its forms and has welcomed directors Stephen Frears and Nicholas Hytner as well as the acclaimed actors Simon Russell Beale and Reece Shearsmith.
The festival’s unique Queen’s Park Community Tent is the festival's stage dedicated entirely to nurturing local talent, supporting local artists and partnering with local chartities. It was created specifically to champion local voices and empower under-represented groups in the community. Every year it is proud to host a huge variety of artists including local refugees, young poets and emerging authors.
