Andrew O'Hagan: Caledonian Road

Andrew O'Hagan's new novel Caledonian Road was published in the spring to superb reviews, went to the top of the best-seller lists, and is being adapted into a multi-part television series. Among its many characters are two who inhabit worlds that are physically close but far apart in every other way. Campbell Flynn is an art historian, and Milo Mangasha is his student, a young man with a plan. Over the course of an incendiary year, a web of secrets and crimes is woven that will threaten the ease of Campbell's privileged life. Andrew will be in conversation with festival trustee Derek Johns.
