Do I need a Day Pass to access the festival site?
No, the festival site is free to the public to access. Come and enjoy the festival atmosphere, food and drink, free events in the community tent and the free Imagination Studio for children.
What does a Day Pass give me access to?
A Day Pass gives you access to all events in the Alexander McKenzie and Walter MacFarlane venues.
Do I need to print my ticket?
No. When you arrive at the festival, show your ticket on your phone to an usher and you will be given a wristband which will give you access to all events.
Can I buy tickets on the day?
Yes, there will be a box office on site to purchase Day Passes and tickets for children’s events
Can I buy tickets for single events?
No, the Day Pass system offers great value for money and hopefully encourages you to discover the unexpected. Come and explore as many events as you like throughout the day.

Do children need a Day Pass to join me at the events?
Children under 12 do not need a Day Pass. They can join their parents at adult events for free. Children do need tickets to access the children’s events. See the tickets page on the website.
Can I bring my dog to the festival?
Yes absolutely, dogs are allowed in marquees, providing they are on leads, well behaved and love the literary arts.
