Clare Christian

Clare is a highly experienced publisher, and past winner of the UK Young Publisher of the Year award. She worked for several of the big publishing houses including Hodder, Orion, John Wiley and Pearson before co-founding The Friday Project in 2005. TFP was founded specifically to curate and publish books from popular web content in the days before that was commonplace! TFP was sold to HarperCollins in 2008 to become their experimental division and Clare stayed on until 2009 before leaving to work as an independent publishing consultant. She launched RedDoor in 2014, in response to the increasingly risk-averse nature of the tradition publishing industry. Frustrated by seeing talented authors missing out on traditional deals, Clare wanted to create a new and sustainable publishing model that gives authors a credible and professional alternative route. RedDoor is the result and Clare has recently been recognised as one of the inaugural Bookseller FutureBook 40, a list of the top 40 innovators across the publishing industry.
