Catherine Heaney grew up in Dublin. She has worked as journalist and editor in Dublin and London, at various magazines and at the publisher Fourth Estate. From 2011-2014 she was head of Faber Academy, Faber and Faber’s creative writing school. In 2016 she edited a volume of essays, Trinity Tales: TCD in the 1990s, published by The Lilliput Press. She is a director of the Estate of Seamus Heaney, working with publishers and cultural organisations in Ireland and beyond to preserve and promote her father’s work. She lives in northwest London.
The Nobel Prize winning author, who died in 2013, would have been 80 this year. Martin Rosenbaum and Adam Low, a producer/director team who have made many television programmes about authors, including such as Harold Pinter and William Golding, are currently filming a documentary about Heaney which will be broadcast by BBC2 in the autumn.
