A message from the Queen’s Park Book Festival

Dear all,

During this period of national mourning, my team and I extend our sympathies to The Royal Family following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

With the recent announcement of the Queen’s funeral on Monday 19th September and upon consideration with my team, we have decided to proceed as planned with the Queen’s Park Book Festival next weekend.

All events will proceed as programmed, with a number of additional tributes and commemorations created over the weekend which pay tribute to the extraordinary life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

This festival was created to share a love of literature in the company of others, with the knowledge that people can be united behind a common interest and inspired by a common cause. I believe that in the coming days and weeks, the need for unity will be great indeed. It is therefore fitting at this time that the festival’s opening event will be a moving meditation on love, loss and grief.

I hope that you are able to join us at the Queen’s Park Book Festival next weekend for what will be a very special occasion.

Sincerely

Thomas du Plessis

Director
